Woog and Santa: a meeting of the minds

For anyone on our Christmas card list, this is what you'll be seeing this year.

Walking Wooglet

Well, not quite yet, but he is making strides (HA!) in that direction. His latest trick has been pulling himself to a standing position, and then letting go of whatever (or whomever) is supporting him. At first it was just for a second or two, but today I clocked him doing it for a full TEN seconds, and that was after pulling himself up without any real support (he steadied himself on a pillow, and then straightened up and stood, steady as can be). He still prefers cruising to crawling, but will crawl in a pinch (especially if it's towards something he can pull up on).

Of course, he always falls on his butt sooner or later, and then I heave a giant sigh of relief. Nearly 8 months is too soon for this sort of thing.

On Saturday, Daddy is taking Woogie to see Santa at Harry's Savoy at the urging of Aunt Meg. Woog has met Santa once already, at the dismal Springfield Mall (although Santa had a real beard and was rather kindly. He's probably a biker dude in real life). I will try to get a photo posted of both visits, and hopefully some random video, too. He was wearing his stocking cap and his elf slippers, these last courtesy of Aunt Aimee, doting godmother. They are hysterical looking shoes. Well played, Aunt Aimee! And then on Monday, I'm bringing him to the Library Holiday Breakfast in his Santa suit (thank god for eBay). I think he'll be a big hit with all the ladies - many of them have already asked if he's coming. Already my boy's a ladies' man!

In the beginning

In spite of his stressful time coming into the world, Graham was quickly alert and happy (well, as happy as a newborn can be who's stuck in an isolette in the NICU for 27 hours).

Still a little bit of birth gore on those toes, whoops!
